Hood, Front Fenders

I picked the best hood to continue the project.  The problem with this hood is the rear support stucture.  Mice caused more rust.  So I removed the rear support structure from the "green" hood and replacing the red one.

Kevin is finishing up my last fender.  Patch panels are pretty much worthless and do not have the proper bends/fitment. We were able to use a small piece to fix the fender.

Bed Sides

Started working on the bedsides 12/29/2011.  I am sore!  I sanblasted them, removed bed strip and rear pillar that was crushed.  The bed sides have some pits, but they are worth restoring.  You can't buy a replacement bed panel with this stamping.

Awesome floorboards

Floorboard turned out awesome.  Waiting to put center in till we mount it to the frame and channel it

Grinding, Cab 95% done

Kevin called me in to grind the welds in the floor pan and toeboard.  The firewall/toeboard customization is done.  Just hitting odds and ends now.

Love all the custom touches Kevin made. Especially the toeboard stamping.

Splurging - Swamp Cooler

Now I have to stop spending money.  I splurged on 12/03/2011 and bought a swamp cooler.  I think these things look so cool. Even though they are made for the desert southwest, and don't work in humid climates, I had to have it.  However, I will probably be the only one in the midwest with one!

Pics of the actual item.  $335 with shipping, not too bad of a deal.

Smooth Firewall

In the process of smoothing out the firewall on 12/02/2011.  Kevin gave me a chance to "approve" the changes before putting in the modified (from original) distributor hump and toeboard.

Cab Resurrection Begins...

It's 09/06/2011 and I'm about 3 weeks into resurrecting the cab.  After hours and hours and hours or sandblasting, we found all the problem areas.  And MAN, there are alot of them!  Thank you rat pee for leaving your mark!  Anyway, we tore off the outside rear/lower and upper rear/inner panels, because of the rust/pits.  The main brace between the upper and lower panels was a home for the mice, so that was shot too.  At least we're doing it right.  It can only look better from here!

Expect changes to the firewall soon.

The pile of metal we tore out.

Body Work - Doors

On 5/11/11 I brought all 4 of my doors to Kevin and we decided on the best 2.  Jack I dissassembled the doors in prep for sandbasting.  We have a couple holes to fill and the inside/bottom of the doors will need to be replaced with the patch panels I purchased.  This is common in these trucks.
